## A Note on Health Patterns

Health design patterns differ from general UX patterns because they must account for:

* **Clinical safety** — Design errors can have real consequences
* **Regulatory requirements** — HIPAA, GDPR, MDR create design constraints
* **Health literacy** — Users have widely varying ability to understand health information
* **Emotional state** — Users may be anxious, in pain, or caring for a loved one
